System Design

Residential, Commercial, and Utility scale PV Systems:

From the most basic solar electric systems to utility scale distributed generation, we will provide a timely and precise design solution, ever mindful of the installation obstacles, code requirements, system performance, and A.H.J. inconsistencies.

Residential and Commercial Hot Water Systems:

From single tank closed loop to large open loop drain-back boiler systems, our designs will get you through the permitting process quicker and have your installers on the right track for an easy build and inspection.

Modeling

Using 2- and 3-dimensional modeling allows us to analyze potential shading issues before they become a problem.  We can utilize the same techniques to compare existing builds in order to measure actual performance versus expected performance.

Troubleshooting

System Function, Performance, and Communication Systems.

Inspection

Evaluation of sites for feasibility, code compliance and construction efficiency either prior to, during, or after installation and/or inspection.

Meet the Team

Mike Conner, P.E.
Professional Engineer; Owner

Mike has over fifteen years of solar generation experience in the areas of design, engineering and installation, having managed multiple teams of engineers and designers for small, medium and large-scale residential, C&I and utility scale projects. He is adept at coordinating across multiple-discipline engineering teams while maintaining firm standards, consistency and focus on the client’s objectives. Mike is a certified Professional Engineer in multiple states, is a North American Board Certified Energy Professional and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University.

Kevin White
Project Development Engineer

Kevin supports the design of renewable energy systems for commercial/industrial and utility market sectors. Previously with Strategic Solar Energy, Kevin took a multifaceted role in the execution of renewable energy projects located throughout the U.S., including design, energy and financial analysis, O&M, and procurement. He holds a Professional Science Master's degree in Solar Energy Engineering and Commercialization from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from The University of Central Florida.

Greg Nicholson
PV Design Engineer

Greg designs grid-tied and off-grid photovoltaic power plants, and drafts plan sets for permit submittals. Since 2010, Greg has gained experience supporting solar power companies in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. In each position, Greg developed CAD standards and automation to streamline plan set creation and ensure greater quality control. Prior to his solar power industry experience, Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology at DeVry University, and then worked as a field technician for system integrators in the energy management and biomedical engineering industries. Greg brings this understanding of the installers' experience to his system design at Micrometer.
